It's less than a week to World Tai Chi and Qigong Day now, which is on Saturday 29 April. This year we will be doing something a bit different and are having a free event at the St John's Community Centre in Liverpool. There will be several instructors offering different tai chi and qigong workshops throughout the morning. Email me or ask in class for more information.

How you diddling?

It was lovely meeting everyone at the Nomad Rangers "How you diddling" session at the Dorset Road Community Centre in Atherton yesterday, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

If you are over 50 and would enjoy an afternoon of crafts and a bit of tai chi then get in touch with the Nomad Rangers. There will be more of these sessions for a couple of Tuesday afternoons every month.

I'm going to be taking orders for a batch of class polo shirts over the next couple of weeks, so if you would like one, let me know and tell me what size you want.

They come in unisex sizes from XS to 6XL for £14, or if you want a ladies' fit polo they come in sizes from 8 to 22 and cost £15.

New: monthly tai chi passes

I know you all go home and practise every day after your weekly tai chi class. ;) But if you feel that one class a week isn't enough and would like to attend more then maybe the new monthly pass is for you. For £30 a month you can attend any A Higher Porpoise Tai Chi class listed under "Open Classes" here - as many classes as you like. It also makes a great gift.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Wishing you a happy and prosperous Year of the Rooster.

Don't forget that tonight's class will be making a fresh start with the new year at a new venue: J Block, Lowton High School. I look forward to seeing you there.

I have been meaning to repost some YouTube videos so here they are.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have enjoyed the break and are ready for a happy, healthy 2017 filled with lots of joy and tai chi.

Classes start again this Wednesday 4 January. Monday classes will start again on the 9 January.

There is plenty to look forward to this year. If you missed the Deyin Taijiquan Institute November bootcamp, then make sure you book early for the Chinese New Year one as it is taking place soon, at the end of this month.

Master Faye Li Yip will be visiting Liverpool twice, with a Taiji Kungfu Fan workshop on Saturday 11 March and a tai chi improvers workshop on Saturday 9 September.

In 2017 we will also be celebrating Professor Li's 80th birthday with Interfest, a four-day tai chi retreat at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Newport.

All in all, it's looking like it's going to be an amazing year. :)
